36 week Update
March10
So.... 36 weeks and 3 days... hours... minutes ..... Yes I am counting down - sooo ready to go! I can't remember what my ankles used to look like, as they are about the same size as my knees now - lol. I went to the dr.'s office today for a check-up. Everything seems to be ok - I am not really dilated at all - she said less than one centimeter. So.... no trips to the hospital today. It's actually good since Rich is heading to Raleigh, NC this weekend for CarolinaCon. He is "on call" should anything happen - meaning he has to high-tail it home if I go into labor, but it looks like we should be fine. My sister, Jenny, is coming to stay for the weekend so that someone will be here with me.
I am big enough now that I am starting to scare people in public places - ha. You know, they look at you and think, "please God, don't let that lady go into labor while I am standing here next to her..." lol. Another woman took pity on me in the grocery store. She saw me carrying a basket with a few items in it and offered to carry it for me. I laughed and asked if her she meant my stomach - she would be welcome to carry that - ha! So many women are sympathetic. They just look at me and sigh, saying " you poor thing, I remember those days..." I am however very thankful that I am at 9 months in March and not AUGUST. Those are the real troopers -those women who carry their babies in 95 degree heat - yikes! Anyway - no news is good news - so I'll keep you all updated as we go.Written by Steph
Coming into the home stretch, so exciting! Too bad you probably can’t enjoy it, since if you’re like me, you’re just like, ‘Let’s HAVE this thing already!’ I was soooooooooooo impatient the last few weeks – anxious to meet her, nervous about the labor, and just wanted to be done with the enormous cankles!
That’s too funny about the pity and nervousness of strangers.
I was going to remind you guys to make sure that Richard gives you my cell phone number in case you can’t get ahold of him right away – call me, and if worse comes to worse I either have a lot of the cell phone numbers of the rest of the crew, or can drive over there and pull him out by the hair! I’m sure it will be fine though – first baby, you’ll likely go past your due date (which is not what you want to hear, but it’s good to be prepared for the let-down of having to wait even LONGER for the little mister to arrive).
Be sure and slip me an E-mail when your contractions are five minutes apart………
JUST KIDDING!!
Remember, ‘mother nature’ has a way of tricking us. Yes, at this stage you can hardly wait to get that leech out and on his own. On the other hand, you can’t hear him cry yet and you can get some sleep some of the time. Once he is here….. oops…..didn’t mean to scare you.
The point is, take naps and rest when you can. You also may notice a sudden burst of energy a couple of days before you go into labor, assuming you don’t have the planned C-Section.
