Funny or interesting maternity stories…
March3
I have heard some really good maternity stories recently and thought I'd post one my step-mom, Penny, recently shared with me.
"During the Holiday Season of 1977 before Nathan was born in February, one day after work with the dr. (periodontist) I decided to, on my way home, stop by the hospital in Upper Saint Claire where I knew I would be having the baby. This is also where Ian was born. I wanted to acquaint myself with the place and of course, and was getting rather anxious to have him. I was by myself and I took the elevator up to the maternity floor. I walked the halls a little, which were decorated with Christmas ornaments. Then I peeked into the nursery for a bit - you know how it goes, "Aw, how cute the babies are, etc.". Once I was ready to leave for home, I got to the elevators and pushed the button to go down. As I was waiting, all of a sudden two nurses grabbed me, one on each arm and said sternly, "Dear, where are you going? You can't leave! Where is your room???" Holy Cow! I was startled and told them I wasn't in labor and was gong home. They still didn't believe me! I told them I felt fine, and after they checked their records (plus who my O.B. was) they finally let me go. OK, so I looked nine months, but I wasn't! "
If you have any funny or interesting stories you've experienced or heard - just let me know. BUT NO SCARY LABOR stories - I've heard enough of those already - lol.Written by Steph
I remember Ian and I went to IHOP when I was about 5 months pregnant and I could barely fit in the booth. The oh so nice waitress says to me…. Oh it looks like you are about to pop. I kindly told her ….No, I am only 5 months and have a little while longer.
One more for you… this was a couple of weeks after we found out we were pregnant and I was already in maternity clothes. There were several people that felt they needed to tell me I shouldn’t be in maternity clothes yet. I told them I couldn’t control if my belly decided to pouch out. (of course then we found out we were having twins)
I could go on and on… but won’t.
